What are Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)?

HSAs are employee benefit plans offered by some employers in the United States that allow an eligible employee to set aside pretax dollars from their paycheck into a special account that is to be used to pay for eligible health-related expenses. HSAs do not expire at the end of the benefit period. HSA benefits are eligible for medical IV Therapy Services.

What are Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)?

FSAs are employee benefit plans offered by some employers in the United States that allow an eligible employee to set aside pretax dollars from their paycheck into a special account that is to be used to pay for eligible health-related expenses. Most FSA dollars are “Use It or Lose It,” which means that you have until the end of your benefits period to spend all of your FSA dollars or they are forfeited. Always check the specifics of your plan because some FSA plans allow a grace period through the beginning of the new plan year for you to spend your FSA dollars, and others allow a portion of your FSA contributions to roll over into the next plan year.

What items are eligible?

Many FSA- and HSA-eligible items are available to buy online. Please check with your plan administrator to verify that items designated as FSA- and HSA-eligible are also eligible for reimbursement. For background on qualifying health care products and FSAs and HSAs in general, please visit Publication 969 of the IRS here.

How do I pay for my FSA/HSA products and services?

Element IV Therapy accepts FSA or HSA debit cards as a form of payment. You can use your HSA or FSA card for payment. You can also use a credit card or debit card for services and then submit the receipt and any other required documentation to your benefits provider to make a claim for reimbursement. Check with your provider to understand the information that is required for your claim. For most providers, the information you need to submit your claim is included in your order confirmation email. You can always sign in to your account to find your receipt to submit for reimbursement.

HSA and FSA and dependent care eligibility list

The following is a summary of common expenses claimed against Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts (HC-FSAs), and Dependent Care FSAs (DC-FSAs). Due to frequent updates to the regulations governing these accounts and arrangements, this list does not guarantee reimbursement and is to be utilized as a guide for the submission of claims. Find more information on IRS-qualified medical expenses from irs.gov.
If you have an FSA, your employer’s plan may only reimburse a subset of expenses. Please refer to your Plan Document for confirmation of reimbursable expenses under your plan.
If you are currently participating in a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) and are contributing to an HSA, you may also participate in a Health FSA.
